iPhone Developers Conference

Learning iPhone OS Games Programming

10:00 - 11:15am on Sunday, April 25 2010 in Sound Conference Room

There is no denying that games are a hugely popular category of apps on the iPhone/iPod touch. With the launch of this ground breaking device more and more professional as well as novice programmers are looking to develop their dream game. This is being driven a great deal by the realisation that its possible for a single developer to create and market an entire game, which may have seemed impossible before the platform was released. This session walks through the common building blocks required when creating a 2D based OpenGL ES game. It will introduce commonly used terminology such as sprites, sprite sheets and particle systems, provide a high level view of the OpenGL ES technology and also run through a number of useful free utilities that can be used when developing your own games.
